Industries, factories and shops with many machines would need a small army of monitors(devices) to keep track of uptime and downtime as operators are focused on performing their tasks. We use IOT devices like Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Node MCU, etc., for automatic data capture from PLC, SCADA and sensors. Real-time data collection was in place meaning Shift Handover and Production Reporting was always available & ownership of this information resided with the Frontline Teams.

Andon Monitoring System

Andon is a manufacturing term referred to a system which logs the abnormal events above and below the set of various parameter thresholds along with appropriate alerts/notifications to the respective teams like production, maintenance, management etc. NTS cloud based Andon system helps to optimize processes, support the transition to predictive maintenance, and prevent future equipment breakdowns.

Cloud Solutions

All these activities are pushed to cloud (AWS / Azure ) using MQTT framework and the factory can use the maintenance history collected by Andon as data for product iteration, preventative maintenance and other analysis, so that post-event remediation can be advanced to pre-event prevention, reducing downtimes and improving revenues and productivity.

In the event of abnormal machine failures, material shortages, security issues and interruption of production, an operator can simply click a button on the Touch screen or Pre defined number on keypad which sends out alerts to the respective teams. Relevant team members receive the notification / alerts on their mobile app and issues can be displayed via web interface which can be connected to smart TV to display in the production line.
